We all want our pets to live a long and healthy life. That's why preventive health care is so important. Annual exams along with blood work, heartworm tests, and fecal exams allow us to track your pets health and can help us detect potential health issues early on. Surgery

Every patient receives  state of the art monitoring during surgery. This includes heart rate, blood pressure, temperature, and oxygen levels. Blood work is performed prior to anesthesia to check for liver and kidney abnormalities, hydration status, anemia, and infection.
Surgeries we perform include:
  • Spay and castration
  • Mass removals
  • Lacerations and abscesses

Dentistry

Routine dental surgery is important to the overall health of your pet, especially after the age of three when most cats and dogs begin to show evidence of periodontal disease. Periodontal disease not only causes bad breath, rotten teeth, and gum disease, but may contribute to health issues with other organs in the body. During the yearly exam, your pets teeth and gums will be examined to determine is a dental cleaning is necessary. We now offer digital dental x-rays to look for problems under the gum-line where dental disease can hide.

Digital x-rays

X-rays are a critical component for diagnosing an animals medical condition. We use digital x-rays to help us assess and identify potential medical issues with the bones, heart, chest, and abdomen.

In-house lab testing

Our hospital is equipped with the latest IDEXX blood analyzers available today. This allows us to perform CBC, chemistry, and electrolytes along with thyroid and SDMA in clinic so we have the answers we need right away.
Other tests we offer include 4DX (Heartworm, Lyme, Ehrlichia, and Anaplasma), Feline Leukemia/FIV, CPL (pancreatic lipase), Giardia, and Leptospirosis.
Specialty tests are sent to IDEXX reference lab.

Microchipping

Imagine your pet getting lost without any kind of identification to help someone return it home. While collar id tags are useful for providing owner contact information, collars can be easily slipped off or the id tags themselves can fall off or become worn over, making them impossible to read. What then?
That's where microchipping has the advantage. A microchip is placed just under the loose skin on the back of the pets neck. When a lost pet is found, a universal scanner is used to scan the animal to pick up a microchip number. The owners can then be notified for a quick reunion.
We proudly use Home Again, the nations largest microchipping company. Home Again uses 134.2kHz chips that are internationally recognized for overseas travel. For more information please visit their website www.homeagain.com
